Description

The Yard Maintenance Technician performs a variety of yard maintenance tasks in order to ensure the exterior upkeep and preventative maintenance of properties in the rental program. Additional tasks in support of the Maintenance and Housekeeping Department are required. Qualified candidates must be available to work a rotating schedule which includes weekends and some holidays. Eight-hour shifts vary between 8 am - 7 pm.

Essential Job Duties

• Performs landscaping tasks such as weed eating, grass cutting, blowing leaves, etc. 
• Inspects exterior of homes for signs of erosion, woodpecker damage, moisture issues, overgrown trees, gutters, etc.
• Writes scope of work, bids, and recommends repairs and upgrades to owners. 
• Completes outside set up of units prior to arrivals.
• Picks up and removes trash.
• Retrieves, stocks, and stores the supplies according to current procedures.
• Responds to requests from owners/guests and reports concerns in a timely and hospitable manner.

 Other Job Duties

• Perform other job functions as necessary to ensure property and company goals and guest expectations are exceeded.
• Assists the housekeeping staff by delivering linen and supplies as needed.
• Assists maintenance staff with various home upgrades and projects.
• Trouble shoots TV and Internet problems in managed units.

Requirements

•  Basic yard maintenance experience required such as weed eating, grass cutting, leaf blowing.
• Demonstrates teamwork and customer service focus.
• Maintains high energy level and positive demeanor.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk, hear and speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Must be able to endure long periods of sitting, standing or walking in a hot, humid environment.
• Will be occasionally required to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 15 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel. 
• Drive vehicle for performance of duties.

Experience & Education

• Six months prior yard maintenance experience preferred. 
• High School diploma or GED required.
